three stages of desert colonisation

The picture below is a research showing  projects, structures and natural processes which were interesting for me and inspired further steps of my project.  Collection of pictures is divided into three parts which I called three stages of desert colonization. Every stage has its own set of needs which need to be fulfilled in order to successfully inhabit the land. I find especially interesting the principles of mashrabiya and termite mounds which I further analyzed in  my theoretical thesis.
